We’re pleased to announce the release of new content in Steel Division: Normandy 44’s Pre-Order Beta. You can now play on Omaha up to 4v4 and with the 2nd US Infantry Division and the 17. SS Panzergrenadier Division. 

Here’s what Version 78 029 brings to the game:

CONTENT:
  • 2 new divisions: 2nd US Infantry Division and 17. SS Panzergrenadier Division
  • 1 new map: Omaha, from 1v1 to 4v4

AUTOSETTING:
  • Autosetting is now quicker, especially for high configuration

DEBUG:
  • Fixed a rare crash when a multiplayer game was launched while a player was still in the battlegroup interface
  • Infantry can fall back when it is pinned down while being in a building
  • FW 109 G3 now correctly drops his bombs on the target
  • Rifles now play a sound when firing
  • Fixed a rare bug when a unit could teleport while being unloaded on the edge of some maps

TUNING:

FIX:
  • Fixing the wrong range displayed by some AA units.
  • Fixing an issue preventing the P-47 from firing all its rockets in one single attack.
  • Tri-Polsten's lethality reduced.
  • Fixing Hs-129 B3's ressuply time at the airport which was too long.

GENERIC:
  • Firefly (all variants)' hull & AA MGs removed.
  • Sherman (all variants)' 12,7mm & 7,62mm MGs ammunition set to realistic loadout.
  • AA guns resilience to planes' bombs & rockets increased.
  • 37mm & 40mm AA guns are now slightly more lethal at long range.
  • Planes take 10% more stress.

US:
  • Jumbo price increased from 180 to 200.

UK:
  • Little John adaptor's AP increased from 13 to 14.
  • 15th Scottish'Daimler AC availability per pack increased from by 1 in phase B and C.
  • 15th Scottish'CMP polsten availability per pack increased from 3 to 4.
  • 15th Scottish'Churchill Crocodile price increased from 165 to 180.
  • 15th Scottish'Churchill Crocodile removed from phase A, 2 packs of 2 available in B.
  • 15th Scottish'Churchill VI's front armor increased from 9 to 10.
  • 15th Scottish' Churchill AVRE's front armor decreased from 20 to 18. (We're still investigating on the armor value of the reference we're using.)
  • 15th Scottish' Churchill AVRE's price decreased from 165 to 160.
  • 15th Scottish' Priest availability per pack reduced from 2 to 1 in B, packs of 2 added in phase C
  • 15th Scottish' a single Challenger is now available in phase B.
  • 15th Scottish' infantry veterancy reduced. Veteran troops are still available but in lower numbers
  • 15th Scottish' veteran HMG added in phase B

GERMANY:
  • 91.LLD' Hs-129 B3's 75mm gun's rate of fire slightly increased.
  • 91.LLD' FJ-Führer's G43 replaced by FG-42.
  • 91.LLD' Fallschirmjäger price reduced from 50pts to 45pts
  • 12.SS' Panzergrenadier Führer now have smoke grenades (use them with the smoke on position order)
  • 12.SS' Pionier Führer have a high explosive bundle grenade

Fixed several rare crashes
AI supply vehicles will now avoid enemy units more efficiently
Skirmish map size is now saved when the player quits the game (just like other skirmish options)

* Fixes a bug occurring when units could sometimes not fire at enemy units in a building.
* Lobby now display all the maps feature in the game, although only those unlocked in the beta remain playable.

MATCHMAKING:
  • 'Quick play', a new system that will help you find teammates and available games in multiplayer.

FIX:
  • Sherman 105's ammunition loadout fixed 666 to 66 rounds
  • SPW 221 PzB41's ability to fire on the move removed
  • Airplanes can now use their defensive MG during evacuation
  • Artillery accuracy's penalty now scales better with stress
  • Panzergrenadier's double Leichtes MG42's firepower increased to match the firepower of two individual l.MG42
  • Planes 13mm MG's power reduced to match the .50cal
  • Spitfire's 12,7mm accuracy reduced from 4 to 3 to match other wing weapons
  • Vehicle-mounted Bren gun's power reduced
  • Bren gun is now correctly feedbacked with a 7.7mm caliber
  • Tri-polsten damage discrepancy with other 20mm fixed

GENERIC:
  • Short range AA (.50 cal, 20mm)'s suppression against planes increased
  • Planes with good and very good agility now turn a bit sharper to give them the edge over 'Boom and Zoom' fighters in a turnfight.
  • Multirole aircrafts now lose agility and a bit of speed instead of just speed compared to their fighter version.
  • AT Guns resilience to bomb and rocket planes increased
  • American-made 76.2mm gun accuracy increased from 5 to 6 (Wolverine, Sherman 76, M1 76mm AT gun)
  • Single .50 Cal MG suppression reduced against planes.
  • Tanks' hull & turret rotation's speeds tweaked to model them better. (Panzer IV J, Panther D and Wolverine had very slow turret rotation speed)

FIX:
  • Fixing a bug occurring in the Quick Play lobby when one tried (vainly) to select another division.
  • Fixing a bug preventing squad leaders' name to be displayed when their ghost was placed on the map.
  • Fixing a bridge bug; they no longer block the line of sight
  • In accordance with the German USK (Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle)'s request, we are replacing Kurt Meyer's portrait & bio in the German version of the game with another officer: Fritz Witt, which was the nominal commander of the division at its arrival in Normandy but died a mere week after that.

DISCLAIMER:
We are aware of the discrepancy between Meyer's portrait & Witt's bio in the international version, it will be fixed.

- Recon vehicles' veterancy doesn't increase their speed anymore.
- Fixing a bug making recon units harder to hit the more experience they have. Recon vehicles now get accuracy bonuses with each veterancy rank instead.
- French AM-M8 RBFM ability to fire on the move with its 37mm removed
- KwK42, 17-pdr and Flak 36 guns' AP value reduced by one to match other guns' correction.
- Aim time fixed on allied AAA and vehicle-mounted Cal.50 as it was shorter than the other weapons.

The first major update for Steel Division: Normandy 44, "And Justice For All", is now available!

Here's the massive changelog:

Key improvements:

Enhanced performance
Added new interface option: Text Size
Improved the Quick Play and Ranked games, which now allow to search for different game sizes at the same time (i.e: from 1vs1 to 4vs4)
Added four new music tracks
Increased the deployment phase time in 10v10 games, now 3 minutes instead of 2
Improved multiplayer menu navigation: players won't be kicked back to the main menu when failing to join a game
Improved deck building menu: double-click on a pack will add/remove it from the deck
Modified multiplayer disconnection condition, should now be limited to players with oldest computers. Please contact us if disconnection problems remain in multiplayer.

General:

Fixed the displayed statistics in the "Favorite Units" board (starting from this patch - older and incorrect stats will not be taken into account)
Fixed the diplayed map size in the game list for games with Observer mode activated
